The Question:  “Here’s what would occur in the perfect church service…”

The Answer:  “Well, the best church service that I can imagine is the one where every person who was backslidden or invited to attend repented, because repentance is the pivotal point of change.”

The Answer:  “What would occur: Miracles, prayer before the service, every guest greeted with a smile and true love. What wouldn’t occur: fashion statements, soloists in the spotlight, ministers with egos and gossip...kinda sounds like my church!”

The Answer:  “Perfect silence...maybe a little piano. No tongues and interpretation. Silence, yeah, silence.”

The Answer:  “The very fact that you think you can imagine in your own little head what a perfect church service would be shows that you are missing the point completely. Let me give you a clue. It's not about you and what you think. It's not about me and what I think. It's completely, totally, 100% what God thinks. Therefore, how on earth could I ever think I know what would occur in the perfect church service? Besides, it would be different every single time, because different people would be there, with different needs. This question is so pointless!”

The Answer:  “Broken spirits. Repentance. Giving. Change. No Amens, just Oh Me! No shouting. Pure Word. Saints would be converted to missionaries (inner city, home missions, and foreign missions).”

The Answer:  “A sweet move of the Holy Spirit to uplift and fill those in need.”

The Answer:  “Everyone would receive an amazing blessing, the Holy Ghost would be poured out, healings would take place, and all the people who I have been friends with over the years who have backslidden would show up and pray through. Much of this happens to an extent, but there are a lot of backsliders who I would love to see get back in church. Including my brother! If all this happened, it would be so awesome!”

The Answer:  “The rapture would take place and we would be out of here!”

The Answer:  “In a perfect church service...Jesus is glorified, music and singing is fantastic, the preaching is meaningful, helpful, and Bible based, the people treat each other and visitors with love and kindness, souls are saved...many repent, are baptized and Holy Ghost filled, miracles happen and healings come instantly. We need to get committed, pray, fast, and start having perfect church services!”

The Answer:  “God speaks. We listen. We understand. We change.”

The Answer:  “You wouldn’t walk into a building that separates you from the community.”

The Answer:  “How do you know what the will of God is?”

The Answer:  “We'd all be raptured...enough said!”

The Answer:  “This is my own totally weird idea but here goes: First, everyone would arrive on time and as a church, we would pray. Not the little 3 minute stand-up ritual, but kneel as a congregation and have a genuine prayer session. Then, the kids would go to their various classes [this is Sunday morning] where anointed, prepared teachers would teach them. Adults would also have classes to go to with teachers appropriate to the class, i.e., a lady to teach the adult ladies, a young couple to teach the career class, etc. After a one-hour Sunday school class [and while we are at it, let's dump the UPC Sunday School literature because it is pathetic] of authentic, relevant biblical teaching, we would have a fellowship hour. Coffee, doughnuts, etc., where we could get all of our visiting done, refresh, and prepare for the worship service which would open with congregational, choral, and special singing. Following that, the minister would get up with the message and take as long as needed to deliver his heart. With the invitation, the congregation would prepare for altar work and worship - for as long as we needed to be there, instead of the whole church coming forward, praying 2 minutes, laying hands on each other, singing coom-by-yah for a couple of choruses and going home as dry as when we started. Oh, this might take until 2-3 in the afternoon so no night service. What a perfect time to be with family! On Wednesday nights, instead of another 3 songs and sermon, I would have children's church and a genuine Bible study where there was an interchange between the pastor and the congregation and the laity was actually prepared for ministry -now there is a seditious thought.”

The Answer:  “Everyone would get along with everybody, and they would all get the Holy Ghost.”

The Answer:  “God being allowed to do what God wants to do. Period! Nothing more (that we think should be added) and nothing less.”

The Answer:  “All that needs to happen is that not one person walks out unsaved or sinful. But to add to the joy, I love the services where hearts are obviously ‘broken and beautiful’ when we have humbled ourselves at the feet and mercy of the Lord Almighty. And how we spend the rest of the night worshiping at the throne and dancing for hours. Those are my favorite services. It is just the beauty of knowing what we really are and who He really is. How beautiful!”

The Answer:  “Everyone would jump into the flow of Jesus Christ and allow Him to take us where He wants us to go that day.”

The Answer:  “The glory of the Lord would fill the house!”

The Answer:  “Believers would assemble and sing praise and worship God. No one is flipping out. The Word would be preached and sinners present would be convicted to become believers or become recommitted to God.”

The Answer:  “Right after I got all right with God, He would come and take us home.”

The Answer:  “People would stop being fake and honestly and earnestly share their hearts with one another, be the body and love each other. Then, sinners will see by our love for one another that we are Christ!”
