Letters

Don’t know about you, but it cannot get any more hectic for me at this point! This is one of my favorite times of the year; I love almost everything about it; it’s the one time of year I can get with friends, shop like crazy (and buy), bake, and decorate without that feeling of guilt—guilt that I am not getting something else done. One of the things that I consistently have problems with is getting those presents wrapped after I buy them. Hopefully, by next week, I will be completely caught up! Who knows though?

Readers have requested the return of the “Once & Again” section (highlights from our extensive archives), so to save room on the redesigned home page we are going to begin adding the “fun” link each week to the Letters page. Ladies and Gentlemen….

RE: 90&9

I must testify how much of a godsend the ministry of 90&9 is to me. I just finished reading all of the articles for the current issue, and I was just newly struck by freshness and quality of the content.

The running theme lately seems to be the Church’s relevance to our modern culture. Although the Church as a whole has much room for improvement, 90&9 gives me hope. It is a shaft of light at the forefront, committed to being relevant, and I feel blessed that I, as do we all, not only have the opportunity to partake of it, but also to contribute to it.

This is our Voice.

RE: Essentials for a New York Fix

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed that 90&9 is losing its Apostolic edge and succumbing to total worldliness.

Ms. Dunlap's New York fling is a perfect example. Retail and entertainment therapy is how the world handles mid-winter “slump.” A much better way to “shock sleepy systems awake” is via a good, old-fashioned prayer meeting. As an old Jamaican Mama in our church taught me via a song, it can be Summer time in our soul all year ’round.

Sincerely,

Brook Tyler, Canada
