There are many things that make me happy, but there are also a fair number of things that make me sad. One of those is to think about the years ahead when many of the pillars of our Apostolic organizations will no longer be with us. I’m not trying to be morbid, but the reality is that many of our great preachers and teachers plainly will not be around when my little guy is an adult.
I remember when I first came to God and I went to Youth Camp for an evening service. Here I was a young person who did not grow up in church, but I could listen for two hours while Murrell Ewing sang and preached—it literally seemed like minutes. Today, I start getting fidgety when the minister passes 30 minutes. I am sure that there is a lesson for me personally to learn here, but the fact remains that those preachers and teachers who I remember as a new convert will not be around forever!
Which brings me to my point, Nona Freeman is going to be at this year’s UGST Symposium in St. Louis, where there will be an opportunity for you to hear her story. On Friday night there will be a drama depicting the early part of her life. I haven’t seen it yet, but I cannot imagine that it will be a waste of your time. A little insight into the life of one who has given so much to the cause of Christ needs to be celebrated!
Re: “Teens Creating Bus Ministry”
Super way to go! What a blessing to read about what these teens are doing to transform their world. What they are doing has eternal significance. I'm so proud of them and would love to hear follow-up on this bus ministry endeavor.
