Well it is the end of the year, so we proudly present our Year-End Double Issue for our readers this week and next. Plenty to read over these busy days, with new content available on January 1, 2007!
Don’t know about you, but it cannot get any more hectic for me at this point! This is one of my favorite times of the year; I love almost everything about it; it’s the one time of year I can get with friends, shop like crazy (and buy), bake, and decorate without that feeling of guilt—guilt that I am not getting something else done. One of the things that I consistently have problems with is getting those presents wrapped after I buy them. Hopefully, by next week, I will be completely caught up! Who knows though?
We’re flummoxed. Since we switched over to our .NET redesign, almost everyone who’s contacted us has complimented the new look. The overall traffic to this site appears to be similar to .COM, however the amount of letters we’ve been receiving has dwindled drastically. This week we’ve received but one.
This is a conversation that I heard from three strangers on Thursday night. “Oh, by the way, my name is _______.” “And ours is ________ and ________.” “Nice to meet you!” After only about one minute—honest—the three begin a conversation like this… “If you want to contact me, just go to _______ ________ on MySpace.com and we can keep in contact!” The other two replied, “Oh, we live on MySpace.” Blah, blah, blah. They were talking as if they had known each other for years! I wonder, are we becoming so computer savvy that the extent of our relationships doesn’t go far beyond the end of our keyboard? Oh sure, people are putting themselves out there. More people know about their likes and dislikes, who their friends are, and more. But are we replacing these relationships with flesh and blood relationships? Just something for us all to think about this week.
The news! The news!
Mid-term elections were interesting—some of the people were elated, while others were disappointed. I, regardless of the outcome, choose to be optimistic when it comes to our country. We live in a wonderful country. One that we can talk freely, write freely, worship freely without repercussions…we can even disagree politically with friends and still be friends. I hope that regardless of your politically standings or leanings that you pray for our country and our leaders every day. When you hear one of your friends complaining about the country, ask them this simple question: have you spent time praying about this? It will do one of two things, it will either get them to praying or quiet them, either way it is a win-win situation.
90&9 Central is still celebrating over the well-deserved win by the St Louis Cardinals in the World Series. While Kent is busily trying to break down each playoff and World Series game into inspiring “no-one-is-expecting-you-to-win-this-battle-but-you-and-God!” devotionals, all I can say is Go Cards! It is always nice to just happen to live in the town of the World Series Champs! And right now, that’s what we’re doing.

What a weekend! The IQ Forum was amazing! If you weren’t there you missed something special between God and man (hope to have more on that soon)! Then on top of that this is what happened Sunday evening for us:

Life is just too busy, but part of our busy is preparing for The IQ Forum the 20th and 21st of October. As last year boasted a great time, I think that this year’s schedule is even more exciting. The issue that we’ve had this year has been “How do you promote this type of event?” It isn’t your normal type of Apostolic event—it’s a conference for people who want to improve and challenge themselves—not go away being completely reaffirmed of how they are living their life. It’s for those who enjoy spending time with others who will “sharpen their iron.” How do you promote that correctly so that Apostolics will be moved to attend? (Most people don’t even seem to realize that they need to sharpen their iron!)
