Sin and Saints

By Micah Wisdom

Blindness

She supplies my wants
She fulfills my desires
She leaves me satisfied for a moment
She leaves me empty forever after
She’s appealing on the outside
I’m afraid to look any deeper
Because I know that she is full of darkness
I’m aware this will come to nothing good
But that doesn’t stop me
Temporary pleasure in exchange for a life of pain
Such a terrible deal
Why do I make it again and again?

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” -Romans 6:23.

Sister Mary

Doing all she can
Always lending a crippled, helping hand
Her body is weak and frail
Almost always in pain but listening to her you couldn’t tell
So when I hear the young, healthy, and strong
Sing of their troubles in a sad song
I want to take them by to visit Sister Mary
So they too can realize just how light a load they carry

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” -Philippians 3:13-14.
